The Benefits of Juggling

While it may not be the easiest trick to pick up, with a bit of patience anyone can learn how to juggle. Be it through YouTube videos or other online tutorials, juggling is more accessible than ever and it’s not just reserved for those who’d like to join the circus. Juggling has many practical benefits that can play out in day to day life, and here are just three of the many.

Exercise. Although not immediately apparent, juggling is in fact excellent exercise as it requires continuous movement over sustained periods of time. It will certainly be a slow go at first as your body learns the coordinated movements required, but once it all comes together you’ll find that sustained periods of juggling work muscles and can even get the heart rate up.

Hand-eye coordination. One of the biggest benefits of juggling comes in the form of improved hand-eye coordination. Better hand eye coordination can translate to anything from reduced clumsiness to better responsiveness, particularly handy in situations like driving. Elite athletes like hockey players often learn to juggle to improve their stick handling skills.

Fun at parties. It may not be one of the physical benefits of juggling, but who doesn’t like having a trick they can bring out at parties? Juggling is a fun way to impress your friends, and once mastered you can even teach them if they ask nicely!
